Pleasures and Sorrows

I am enjoying reading some Alain De Botton at the moment. And I wanted to share a good bit in The Pleasures and Sorrows of Work, about searching for your aptitudes: “Act like a treasure hunter, passing over the ground with a metal detector, listen out for beeps of joy. A man might get his first intimation that his real interest lies poetry, from a beep he experienced at the sight of mist over a quiet valley from the top of an edge-of-town carpark. Or a politician, long before she belonging to any party, might resister a telling signal when successfully healing a rift between two members of her family”

I like the idea of exploring meaning in tiny beeps.

This week lets listen out for beeps.
